As part of our on-going investment in the latest technology and equipment 2 new 18t Iveco Euro Cargo’s have joined the Elddis fleet this month. They will operate as part of our radial distribution network with one based at our new facility in Heywood and one at our Worksop depot.

A fantastic example of Elddis innovation and custome collaboration, the biggest curtain sided trailer in the UK became the first Long Semi Trailer to reach 1 million miles. Running on a dedicated customer contract the trailer, the outfit has averaged over 600 miles per day for the 1645 days it has been on fleet, that is 1000km everyday for four and a half years, and it is still going strong. The trailer has a massive 150 cubic metres of loading space, which over 60% more than a standard 4.2m trailer, so it may also be the greenest truck on the UK roads

Elddis were proud to be nominated by Willow Burn Hospice for an award in the prestigious North East Charity Awards. It was then a fantastic honour to be shortlisted and ultimately win the award overall. The competition was very tough, with the other two companies short listed both being global PLC’s. It is great to see the efforts of all of the team at Elddis recognised in such away. Our MD, Nigel Cook was also shortlisted in the individual charity supporter of the year catergory.

Elddis picked up another prestigious National Award, winning the United Kingdom Warehousing Association Training Award.

The award was presented by Lord Digby Jones at a ceremony at the Dorchester Hotel during the UKWA annual lunch

The award recognises the “Elddis Way” training program which has been rolled out across the business. Open to every member of the Elddis team, the program offers a level 2 BTEC diploma in Customer Services.

Elddis worked closely with Talent Training to develop the program and took the unusual step to ask our customers what they thought was important to teach our staff.

The innovative “Elddis Way” training program has been shortlisted for an award at the road transport industry Oscars – The Motor Transport Awards. Elddis are up against 2 big names for this award; Wincanton and Hotpoint. The result will be announced in London on 1st July. A great recognition for all of the efforts by the team at Elddis
